 BLADE SHARPENING SPECIFICATIONS

Our paper cutting knives are high-grade tools which
require careful treatment in regrinding.

To ensure efficient cutting qualities and long life, and to
avoid "burning" which results in chipping and cracking, the following
must be strictly adhered to:

  • Use the correct adhesives.
  • Sufficient coolant must be used throughout.
  • Feed off the grinding wheel must be find and uniform.
  • Frequent dressing of the grinding wheel is necessary.
It is important to use the best suited grinding wheels, such as
segment, cylinder or cup wheels of the right grade. Maximum coolant
( with rust preventative ) should be used, presented directly at the
grinding area.

After sharpening the burr should be carefully removed by
honing. The quality of the honing the useful life of the cutting edge
( see guidance of honing stones ).
